New therapeutic strategies for the treatment of pancreatic cancer
Financed by: Agencia Canaria de Investigación, Innovación y Sociedad de la Información (ACIISI); Grant number: ProID2020010101
The TheraPanc project is developing a new, more effective and better-tolerated therapy to treat pancreatic cancer, with the ultimate goal of improving survival and quality of life for patients with this malignant disease.
Objective: The overall objective of the TheraPanc project is to demonstrate, in a preclinical setting, that inhibition of glutamine metabolism, with small molecules, blocks the growth of PDAC. At TheraPanc we will focus on proposing predictive biomarkers and developing a new therapy to treat PDAC that attacks the way in which PDAC cells obtain the energy necessary for their proliferation.
